Hello, I’m Amber!

I’ve been selling in-person for over ten years, & I coordinated a local market for a good chunk of that time as well.

As an introvert / sensitive soul / toddler mom, selling at markets has often been a struggle, but I love to share the knowledge and strategies I’ve picked up along the way that help make my markets less stressful, and more enjoyable!

Selling at a market can be really daunting.

Whether it’s a holiday craft fair or your local farmers market, there is a LOT that goes into packing and preparing.

Throw in the anxiety of having to engage with customers?

No wonder why a lot of makers just avoid selling in-person altogether.

But markets can actually be a really rewarding way to sell your wares!

Selling in-person can help you to start building community, making connections, and learning more about the folks who are interested in buying your work.

And here’s the thing, it doesn’t need to be overly complicated (or expensive) to start selling in-person.

There are ways to make your preparations easier, your table pleasant for folks to shop at, and your overall market time more enjoyable.

If you’d like markets to be an important AND enjoyable part of how you sell your work, but are feeling lost and overwhelmed with how to make it happen, then this guidebook can help support you in getting started!

Maker’s First Market includes:

1. A downloadable guidebook that outlines the basics of how to sell at an in-person market.

I focus on keeping things simple, resourceful and efficient.  I’ll cover:

  • Why sell at a market

  • How to find / book a suitable place to sell

  • What to bring for products

  • How to display your wares

  • Preparing to engage with customers

  • Making it easy for folks to buy from you

  • Ins and outs of the market day

  • Follow up and reflecting on how things went

  • How to help enjoy the experience of selling in person

2. An audio recording of the guidebook

Worried that you won’t find the time to sit and read through the guidebook?  Pop in your earbuds and listen to it while you’re busy making your wares!

3. My packing checklists

I love a good list. So you’ll get printable copies of both:

  • my general market packing checklist

  • my “Gold Box” checklist, which contains all the random but super useful “just in case” items
